The digital world plays a central role in children's lives, offering opportunities to learn, connect and participate. However, children can also face risks such as online grooming, harmful content and unsafe digital experiences. Every child has the right to feel safe online and to have their rights respected and protected.

GroSafe is an interdisciplinary research project bringing together expertise in child protection, cybersecurity, behavioural science, education and technology. Using research and co-design, the project is developing innovative digital tools that help children identify grooming behaviours in age-appropriate ways while supporting safer reporting and earlier intervention. The project also explores how technology can strengthen child protection practice, public awareness and safeguarding across Ireland.
